File Transfers

Netmera's File Transfer simplifies the process of updating and managing user data for campaign targeting. This flexible feature supports various upload types, enabling efficient segmentation, tagging, and permission synchronization.

Targeting > File Transfers > File Type > Upload

  1. Navigate to Targeting: Access the Targeting section from the left-hand menu in your Netmera panel.

  2. Access File Transfers: Click on File Transfers to open the upload interface.

  3. Choose File Type: Select the appropriate file type depending on your goal (e.g., Distribution List, Tag Upload, User Upload).

  4. Enter List or File Name: Provide a unique name for the file. This name will appear on the File Transfers screen.

  5. Select and Upload File: Choose your file, ensuring it follows the correct format.

  6. Initiate Transfer: Click to begin the upload. Netmera will validate and process the data.

General File Requirements

Upload Distribution Lists

The Upload Distribution List feature allows you to create and manage lists for targeted distribution. This streamlined process facilitates the efficient organization and utilization of distribution lists for your tailored campaigns.

Used to create audience segments based on user identifiers.

  • List Name: Unique name used for targeting.

  • File: Text file (.txt or .csv)

Format: One user identifier per line.

Tag Uploads

Used to assign a specific tag to a group of users for segmentation.

  • Tag Name: The name of the tag to assign.

  • File: Text file (.txt)

  • Format: Each line should include a single user identifier.

User Uploads

Used to update user information with external IDs and tokens.

  • File Name: Descriptive file name for File Transfers screen.

  • File: Text file (.txt)

  • Format: Each line should follow the format: token, externalId

    APA91bGxyz... , user123
    c2a62iOS... , user456

Additional Notes

If your file includes device tokens (used for push notifications), Netmera will automatically identify the platform (iOS or Android) based on the structure of the token:

  • Tokens beginning with strings like APA91bG... typically represent Android devices.

  • Tokens beginning with strings like c2a62... are often associated with iOS devices.

  • This automatic detection ensures correct routing of notifications without requiring manual platform selection.

Email Uploads

  • File Name: Descriptive identifier.

  • Tag Name (Optional): For segmenting uploaded users.

  • File: Text file (.txt or .csv)

  • Format: One email per line.

  • IYS Sync: If you want to synchronize user permissions with İleti Yönetim Sistemi (İYS), you must follow a separate upload format. For İYS-compatible uploads, please refer to Email Upload Format.

Promotion Value Uploads

Used to associate a promotion value with specific users.

  • Promotion Name: Descriptive name for internal tracking.

  • Promotion Expiry Date: Format: YYYY-MM-DD

  • File: Text file (.txt)

  • Format:

    externalid, promotionvalue

Geofence Uploads

Used to upload geolocation targeting areas.

  • File: CSV file only.

  • Format (semicolon-separated):

    Name;Latitude;Longitude;Radius;Entity Status;Distance Unit;Group
  • Processing may take up to 5 minutes.

Each row must contain the following values in the exact order listed below:

  1. Name: A unique identifier for the geofence. Example: ShoppingCentre1, OfficeBuilding2.

  2. Latitude: The center point’s latitude, in decimal degrees. Example: 40.712776

  3. Longitude: The center point’s longitude, also in decimal degrees. Example: 74.005974

  4. Radius: The radius around the center point that defines the geofence boundary. Example: 500

  5. Entity Status: The operational state of the geofence. Accepted values: ACTIVE or INACTIVE

  6. Distance Unit: The unit for the radius. Accepted values: METERS or KM

  7. Group: A label used to categorize the geofence. Example: RetailGroupA, BusinessGroupB

  • Do not include additional spaces or line breaks.

  • Processing time may take up to 5 minutes depending on file size.

Uploading Email and SMS Data for İYS Sync

To import user permissions into Netmera for İYS synchronization, use the specific formats outlined below. This applies if you’re uploading bulk data manually in addition to automatic syncing.

File Transfer For IYS

Navigate to Netmera Panel > Targeting > File Transfers and choose Email Uploads or SMS Uploads.

Email Upload Format

To synchronize email permissions with İYS, your upload file must include the following columns in the specified order:

  1. Email Address Must be a valid email format. Example: [email protected]

  2. Platform You can use values such as EMAIL, mobileapp, or other relevant channels, depending on your use case.

  3. Permission Must be either ONAY (consent) or RET (rejection), written in uppercase.

  4. Timestamp Must follow this format: dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm:ss Example: 15.05.2025 14:23:00

  5. ExternalID (optional) A unique identifier for the user in your system.

Example: [email protected]; mobileapp; ONAY; 15.05.2025 14:23:00; user123

  • The upload file must be in .txt or .csv format.

  • Do not include a header row in the file.

To sync SMS permissions with İYS, your upload file must include the following columns:

  • Phone number with country code Example: 905331234562

  • Platform Platfrom you acquired consent from: mobile/web, form, etc.

  • Permission Must be either ONAY or RET, written in uppercase.

  • Timestamp Must follow this format: dd.MM.yyyy HH:mm:ss Example: 15.05.2025 14:23:00

  • ExternalID (optional) A unique identifier for the user in your system.

  • The upload file must be in .txt or .csv format.
